The arrest of T.G. Mohandas serves as a strong warning against those making communal and misogynistic remarks, complainant and AIYF State secretary T.T. Jismon has said.
Addressing a press conference at the MN Smarakam in Kollam, Mr. Jismon welcomed the police action, describing Mohandas’s remarks about students as highly defamatory and inhumane.
Mr. Jismon pointed out that the primary demand in his complaint was for Mohandas to be arrested and subjected to legal action. “Since prima facie evidence was present, lawful action should have been taken immediately upon receiving the complaint. However, with the arrest now recorded, strong follow-up legal measures are expected,” he said.
Observing that this was not an isolated incident, the AIYF leader pointed out that Mr. Mohandas had repeatedly made statements aimed at spreading hate and division in society.
