Sydney woman Nirmeen Noufl handed minimum jail term of three years over husband's manslaughter

Nirmeen Noufl, who killed and dismembered her husband, Mamdouh Noufl, has been handed a minimum jail term of three years.

She told psychiatrists an argument became physical one night in 2023 and she stabbed him "believing that her life was in danger".

Nirmeen Noufl, 55, pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter just as her Supreme Court murder trial was due to begin last month.

Prosecutors accepted the plea on the basis that it was a case of excessive self-defence.
