SWR allays railwaymen’s concerns, says their services are needed in Mangaluru region
South Western Railway officials have assured employees in the Mangaluru region that their services are needed for operational continuity following a jurisdictional change. Staff have been given the option to choose between Southern Railway and South Western Railway employment.

The South Western Railway (SWR) told railwaymen of Southern Railway’s (SR) Palakkad Division who wish to stay in Mangaluru after a jurisdictional change that the zone intends to continue to utilise their services for unhindered operations of trains after October 1.
Representatives of Southern Railway Mazdoor Union (SRMU) and Dakshin Railway Employees’ Sangh (DKES) met SWR’s Mysuru Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Mudit Mittal and Southern Railway’s Palakkad DRM Madhukar Roat after a DRMs’ meeting here on Friday and aired the concerns of their members. They told Mr. Mittal that railwaymen who wish to continue under SWR in Mangaluru were apprehensive of being transferred to places elsewhere in SWR jurisdiction.
