Sweden Moves China Migration Operations to Beijing
The Swedish Migration Agency is consolidating its visa and migration operations in China by moving all services from the Shanghai Consulate General to the Embassy in Beijing. The transition will occur in phases, concluding with a full transfer of operations by January 1, 2027.

The Swedish Migration Agency has announced that migration operations at the Consulate General in Shanghai will gradually move to the Embassy in Beijing.
From October 1, 2026, the Embassy in Beijing will take over the processing of visa applications from the three Visa Application Centers (VACs) currently handled by the Consulate General in Shanghai. From the same date, the Consulate General in Shanghai will no longer receive visa applications.
