‘Swachha Unnathi’ programme held for sanitation workers in Bantwal taluk

Mangala Resource Management Pvt. Ltd., which operates several material recovery facilities (MRFs) in Dakshina Kannada, organised the ‘Swachha Unnathi’ programme for sanitation workers from various gram panchayats in Bantwal taluk at its Narikombu MRF on Wednesday, September 30.
The programme saw the distribution of accident health insurance cover worth ₹5 lakh to over 80 sanitation workers; distribution of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety shoes, hand gloves and masks; health check-ups for participating workers; a fire safety demonstration and emergency response training by the Fire and Emergency Services Department; and a snakebite awareness and emergency response session by snake expert Snake Kiran.
Speaking on the occasion, Zilla Panchayat Deputy Secretary Jayalakshmi Rayakoda said the contribution of self-help groups, sanitation workers and Mangala Resource Management, which manages various integrated solid waste management facilities in the district, had played a significant role in bringing national recognition to Dakshina Kannada.
