SVU launches ‘Centre of Excellence’ in Bioenergy Innovations
Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) has inaugurated a 'Centre of Excellence' in Bioenergy Innovations (CoE-BEI), funded by RUSA Phase 2.0, equipped with advanced scientific instruments worth ₹1.20 crore. The center aims to bolster research in clean energy, biofuels, waste-to-energy, and circular bioeconomy, with its Vice-Chancellor highlighting its unique BET surface area analyser facility in Andhra Pradesh.

Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) has established a ‘Centre of Excellence’ in Bioenergy Innovations (CoE-BEI) with financial support from Rashtriya Uchchatar Siksha Abhiyaan (RUSA Phase 2.0).
Sophisticated scientific equipment worth ₹1.20 crore was established at the centre under RUSA, including a BET surface area analyser, Gas chromatography–mass spectrometry, Photobioreactor, Anoxomat III and Milli-Q water purification system.
The centre was formally inaugurated by university Vice-Chancellor Tata Narasinga Rao at the campus on Thursday. He said that the centre would significantly strengthen advanced research in emerging areas like clean energy, biofuels, waste-to-energy, biomass valorization and circular bioeconomy.
