Suspect remains at large after alleged rape

Namibian police are searching for a suspect accused of raping a mentally challenged woman in the Omusati Region. Authorities are also investigating a separate case involving the alleged impregnation of a minor by a relative.

THE Namibian Police in the Omusati Region have yet to arrest a known suspect who allegedly raped a 21-year-old mentally challenged woman on 24 July.
According to Regional Police Commander Ismael Basson, the incident occurred in a village in the Onesi Constituency at night while the victim was on her way home from church.
A suspect approached her and forced her to go with him to his house, where he allegedly raped her.
