The Muthapudupet Police on Monday arrested a 63-year-old man for allegedly murdering a 45-year-old sanitation worker at Kallarpakkam.

The police said the deceased, S. Latha, 45, lived on Yadavar Street in Kallarpakkam. On Saturday, police received information about a foul smell emanating from her locked house. When police reached the spot and conducted an inquiry, Latha was found dead with bleeding injuries.

Her body was recovered and sent to a government hospital for a post-mortem examination. A case was registered and an investigation was launched.
