Doctors at Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Medical College and Hospital, Siruvachur, Perambalur, recently performed a complex laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery on a three-year-old child suffering from a ruptured appendix with multiple life-threatening complications.
The child has made a complete recovery and has been discharged in good health.
According to a press release on Friday, the patient was admitted to the hospital with severe abdominal pain. Detailed clinical evaluation revealed a perforated appendicitis, appendicular mass, intra-abdominal abscess, and a large faecolith.
