The political drama surrounding Endowments Minister Konda Surekha and Telangana State Planning Board Vice-Chairman G. Chinna Reddy, whose alleged defiance of party discipline has embarrassed the Congress government, is likely to culminate in their removal from their respective posts, according to party sources.
In all likelihood, Ms. Surekha and Mr. Chinna Reddy may be asked to resign from their positions and could be sacked if they refuse to step down, the sources said.

The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee’s disciplinary committee, headed by MP Mallu Ravi and senior leader Shyam Mohan, has completed its internal enquiry and submitted its report to TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud. The committee examined the responses of the two leaders to the showcause notices issued to them, and considered other reports and material available to it. Neither of the two was summoned personally before the committee.
