Supercars teams banking on emergency brake solution
Supercars teams are implementing an emergency brake bedding session at The Bend following a series of pad failures during previous events. The category has introduced new brake batches and strict testing protocols to ensure safety and performance.

The Enduro Cup opener will begin at 8:15am on Friday with a dedicated 20-minute brake bedding session that was added to the schedule last week.
Teams reported a spate of pad issues during the Ipswich Super440 and subsequent test day, including a heavy crash for Matt Stone Racing co-driver Harri Jones.
Supercars has worked with the teams and its control brake supplier AP, putting the trouble down to a specific batch.
A new batch has been flown out to The Bend, while teams were also requested to bring their existing stock to the circuit.
Supercars undertook an audit of all those pads on Thursday and was seen conducting hardness testing on pads before cars hit the track.
The category has also sent teams detailed brake bedding instructions ahead of the additional session, during which teams are prohibited from making set-up changes.
