Super Rugby Pacific: Squads announced for 2027 season

New Zealand's Super Rugby Pacific teams, including the Hurricanes and Highlanders, have announced their squads for the 2027 season. The rosters feature a mix of returning veterans, new signings, and international talent as teams prepare for pre-season training.
Why it matters
Squad announcements are critical for fans and analysts to gauge the competitive strength of professional rugby teams ahead of the new season.
New Zealand’s Super Rugby Pacific club squads have been unveiled before the 2027 season.
Reigning champions the Hurricanes have confirmed 28 players who were part of their team last season will return to Hnry Stadium, alongside 10 new signings.
New face Semisi Ta’eiloa is one of 15 All Blacks to make the squad, while prop Tito Tuipulotu and lock Alefosio Aho also join the Hurricanes, having played for Moana Pasifika last season.
Coach Clark Laidlaw said it was good to finally have his squad known and announced.
“We’ve done a lot of work over the last 10 months, since the turn of the year when we knew a few players were departing,” Laidlaw said.
“It’s not only been a process over the NPC, but it started back in January around trying to look at the areas of the squad that needed reinforcements.
