Sunil Kumar inaugurates first training workshop for Kambala jockeys

Former Minister V. Sunil Kumar inaugurated the first training workshop for Kambala jockeys in Karkala, Karnataka. The event aims to increase the number of professional jockeys as the traditional buffalo race sport grows in popularity.

Former Minister and Karkala MLA V. Sunil Kumar on Sunday, inaugurated the first-ever training workshop for Kambala jockeys at the Lava-Kusha Jodukare Kambala venue, Miyar in Karkala.
The workshop was jointly organised by the Karnataka State Kambala Association and the District Kambala Committee. He also hoisted the Kambala flag on the occasion.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Kumar said Kambala is gaining popularity every passing day and the number of Kambala events as well as Kambala buffalo bull owners is also increasing. At the same pace, the number of Kambala jockeys (runners) should also increase, he said complimenting the efforts of the Kambala associations in organising the training workshop.
