Ten persons, including 8 students, were injured in two separate accidents in Devakottai and Karaikudi here on Tuesday.

A government bus travelling from Ooriyur in Ramanathapuram district to Devakottai in Sivaganga district was carrying numerous school students.

When the bus reached a place called Nallangudi near Devakottai, it crashed into an electric pole on the roadside. Six students travelling on the bus were injured.

They were admitted to the Devakottai Government Hospital. The Devakottai Taluk police are investigating the incident.

In a separate incident, a college bus was heading from Karaikudi to a private college in Puduvayal on Wednesday morning. When it reached the Alagapuri area, a cow suddenly crossed the road.
