Students’ Counselling and Guidance Centre established on Collectorate premises
District officials in Kadapa have launched a counselling centre on the Collectorate premises to support students struggling with social media influence, substance abuse, and mental health issues. The facility provides professional psychological guidance as an alternative to legal intervention for young offenders.

In a novel initiative, the district administration has established a District Counselling Centre on the Collectorate campus to counsel and guide the school and college students.
District Collector Anand Mohan and Superintendent of Police Vishwesh Balasubramanian Shastri inaugurated the facility on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Anand Mohan said the younger generation, especially school and college students easily get influenced by negative social media posts and were exposed to liquor, tobacco and even drugs. Consequently, the younger generation was suffering from lack of attention in the classroom and interest in studies, depression, anger, violence, examination fear that collectively create dropouts.
At the same time, a few more children undergo the trauma of child abuse, child marriage, physical and emotional harassment by the family members, relatives and friends. A large number of children get addicted to mobile phone and online games.
