The girl was on a footpath on Main Highway, Ellerslie Village when a bus collided with a pole, causing it to fall on her, police said.
Emergency services were sent just before 8am after a bus collided with a pole.
“A pole has also fallen on to a girl who was on the footpath.
“She has been reported as being in a moderate condition,” said a police spokesperson.
Hato Hone St John said it was notified at 7.52am.
“One patient was assessed and treated at the scene by the ambulance crew (minor condition and did not require transportation to hospital).”
