Katla Kavya, a student of the 2023-25 batch of the Master of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication programme at Osmania University (OU) Post-Graduate College, Siddipet, has bagged the late Major S.M. Hussain and Amina Begum Gold Medal for securing the highest aggregate marks in first division in her first attempt at the university examinations.

Hailing from Anantaram village in Jagtial district, Kavya pursued her education entirely in government institutions, from primary school through higher education, said a press release.

She will receive the gold medal from Telangana Governor and Chancellor of Osmania University Shiv Pratap Shukla at the university’s 85th Convocation at Tagore Auditorium on the OU campus in Hyderabad on September 8.
