A college student died after falling from a moving private bus and being run over by it at Chellikkal near Kongad in the district on Wednesday morning.
Gauri G. Krishna, 20, daughter of Gopikrishnan M.P. and Beena S. from Kongad, was a second-year B.Sc. Chemistry student at Yuvakshetra College, Mundur.
According to the police, Gauri was travelling to college on the bus when her shoe fell off while she was boarding. She reportedly jumped off the moving bus to retrieve it, but fell onto the road and came under the wheels.
