Why it matters
The story highlights the intersection of social media influence, public etiquette, and the realities of modern air travel.
Singaporean content creator Rurusama has a simple rule for air travel: Take a shower before boarding.
She jokingly said passengers who do not shower before getting on a flight "should be arrested" in a TikTok video posted on Tuesday (Sept 8).
In the clip, the local cosplayer-actress launches into a candid rant, delivered animatedly, about passengers who board without showering.
"Why are you going up the plane already marinated?" the 27-year-old asked, with the video captioned "I am traumatised".
To illustrate her point, she likened these passengers to "a seasoned chicken" that had been "marinated in the fridge for like 12 hours".
She added that putting on deodorant or perfume did not count as showering, saying she did not want to smell passengers before even reaching her seat.
She also had a response for anyone who thinks showering the night before is enough.
