A strong wind storm is making its way across the province today, meaning there could be a risk of people encountering downed power lines.

Gusts greater than 100 km/h are possible in many areas from the Avalon to the Northern Peninsula, and through parts of central.

Parts of the island under advisories from Environment Canada (Environment and Climate Change Canada)

Newfoundland Power has crews at-the-ready should anything happen.
