MANILA, Philippines - Heavy rainfall and flooding due to the southwest monsoon are likely to have "significant" impact on parts of Luzon over the weekend, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration warned yesterday.

According to PAGASA, heavy rainfall warning would be hoisted over parts of Bataan and Zambales today, as it advised the public and local authorities to take precautionary measures.

Pangasinan, La Union, Benguet, Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Cavite, Batangas and Occidental Mindoro will experience occasional rains, according to PAGASA.

Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms would be felt in Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, Western Visayas, Negros Island Region and Northern Samar.

The rest of the country would have localized thunderstorms and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Yesterday, the House of Representatives implemented a work-from-home arrangement to ensure the safety of its workforce.
