A district-level monitoring committee under the district panchayat has decided to take stringent action against individuals and establishments that fail to remove unauthorised advertisement and flex boards erected in public places and on roadsides.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the committee chaired by district panchayat president Milli Mohan on Thursday (October 8, 2026). The meeting reviewed measures to ensure strict implementation of the Kerala High Court’s directives on unauthorised advertisements in public spaces.
The committee said that first information reports would be registered against establishments and individuals who failed to remove the boards within the stipulated time. Local body secretaries were directed to coordinate with the station house officers concerned and initiate criminal proceedings against those who erected advertisement boards in a manner that endangered the public.
