Stocks in news: HDFC Bank, Infosys, Yes Bank, Hindustan Zinc and RVNL
Indian stock markets experienced a decline due to global economic pressures, including rising bond yields and crude oil prices. Several major companies, including HDFC Bank and Infosys, are in focus following significant leadership changes and positive international revenue outlooks.
Why it matters
The performance of these major Indian firms and the broader market index provides a barometer for the health of the Indian economy and investor sentiment in the region.
Indian equities extended their losing streak on Thursday, with rising global bond yields and elevated crude oil prices weighing on sentiment and fuelling concerns over the economic outlook for FY27.The Nifty 50 declined 198.50 points, or 0.88%, to close at 22,421.95, while the BSE Sensex fell 570.59 points, or 0.79%, to settle at 71,909.70.On the technical front, the Nifty slipped below its weekly 200-day simple moving average zone of 22,600–22,580 and moved closer to the projected support at 22,400. A sustained break below 22,400 could expose the index to further weakness towards 22,200–22,000.
