Senator Mitch McConnell has provided a health update confirming he is out of the hospital following a fall and a subsequent bout of pneumonia. He is currently in a rehabilitation center and expects to return to his Senate duties soon.

Kentucky Sen. Mitch McConnell provided a long-awaited update about his health on Sunday after being hospitalized for several weeks.
In the update, McConnell, 84, says that he suffered a fall on June 14 which landed him in the hospital, with the polio that he suffered as a child limiting his mobility as he ages.
McConnell says that he did not break any bones or suffer a concussion as a result of the fall, but did come down with pneumonia shortly afterwards, leading to his extended hospitalization.
The former Senate majority leader says that he is now out of the hospital and in a rehabilitation center, adding that he expects to be back to work in the Senate soon.
Alongside the statement, the senator's office also released a photo of him and his wife, former Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao, where McConnell can be seen smiling from a hospital bed.
