State sanctions ₹108 crore for new Ambedkar Tower

The state government of Telangana has sanctioned ₹108 crore for the construction of a new Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Tower in Hyderabad. The project will replace the existing, dilapidated Ambedkar Bhavan with a modern 10-story structure.

The State government has accorded administrative sanction of ₹108 crore for the construction of a new Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Tower at Lower Tank Bund in Hyderabad, replacing the existing Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Bhavan.
According to Government Order (GO) issued on August 18, the proposed tower will comprise a cellar, ground floor and 10 upper floors.
The order said the existing Ambedkar Bhavan, with a ground-plus-one structure, was old and in a dilapidated condition. The building had not been in use for the past 12 years and was not being properly maintained, according to the order.
