State-run Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research, Bengaluru, has become the first government hospital in the country to receive certification for implementing the Association of Operating Room Nurses’ (AORN) “Lead the Way” quality improvement programme for safe surgery practices.
The certification recognises the institute’s implementation of standards and best practices in perioperative care and safe surgical procedures. The programme is conducted by AORN in technical collaboration with 3M Life Sciences.
Institute director B. Dinesh said the certification was another step in the institute’s efforts to strengthen patient safety and improve the quality of healthcare services.
