State govt. nominates new chief to SUDA in Shivamogga
The Karnataka state government has appointed Congress leader C.G. Madhusudan as the new chairperson of the Shivamogga-Bhadravathi Urban Development Authority. He replaces H.S. Sundaresh, who was removed following public criticism of party leadership.
Why it matters
This appointment reflects internal political maneuvering within the state's ruling party and the management of local urban development bodies.
The State government on Thursday nominated Congress leader C.G. Madhusudan as chairperson of the Shivamogga-Bhadravathi Urban Development Authority (SUDA), replacing H.S. Sundaresh, who recently made allegations against several party leaders, including School Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa.
The order was issued on Thursday, by the under secretary of the Urban Development Department. The newly nominated chairperson took the charge of his office in the afternoon.
Mr. Madhusudan, 40, has been associated with the Congress for years and has served as an office-bearer of the Youth Congress. He was recently appointed State coordinator of the Youth Congress committee, with the responsibility of constituting Bharat Joto Yuva Sanghas in 11 districts.
