Rajamahendravaram Rural MLA Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary on Friday said the State government had assured ₹20 crore for buildings and infrastructure facilities at the Sree Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University campus at Bommuru in East Godavari district.
Mr. Butchaiah Chowdary and Rajamahendravaram MP D. Purandeswari laid the foundation stone for a road network on the university campus. The Rajamahendravaram Urban Development Authority (RUDA) has sanctioned ₹75 lakh for the road works.
Addressing students and members of the teaching fraternity, Mr. Butchaiah Chowdary said the need to strengthen the university and improve facilities on the Bommuru campus had been raised in the Assembly. He said the government had assured ₹20 crore for its development. Efforts were also being made to mobilise funds from public sector units operating in the Godavari region, he said.
