Start preparation for polls to local bodies, U T Khader tells Congress cadres

Minister U.T. Khader has urged Congress party workers in Dakshina Kannada to begin early preparations for upcoming local body elections. The strategy focuses on strengthening grassroots organization and ensuring voter list accuracy.
Why it matters
Early mobilization is a critical component of electoral strategy for major political parties aiming to secure long-term legislative control.
Minister for Health and Family Welfare and Dakshina Kannada district in-charge U.T. Khader on Saturday said the Congress cadres should immediately begin preparations for the upcoming local body elections.
The party should be ready to face the elections by strengthening the organisation at the grass-root levels, respective block and booth levels, he said. He was addressing party workers and leaders at the District Congress Committee general meeting here.
Mr. Khader said the frontline units, including the Youth Congress, Mahila Congress, Seva Dal and NSUI, should organise separate district-level conferences in the district and conduct their activities more effectively. He suggested that the party organisation in the district should be strengthened from the grass-roots level and work in an organised manner for the victory of the Congress in all 8 constituencies in the district in the 2028 Assembly elections.
