Starbucks announced last week that it would close approximately 250 coffeehouses across North America, representing just under 1% of its more than 18,000 locations in the region. In a memo to employees , chief operating officer Mike Grams said Starbucks had identified stores where it could not consistently provide its desired customer and employee experience or see a path to acceptable financial performance.
