The SRP-1 Incline Mine of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) in Srirampur of Mancherial district celebrated its golden jubilee on Wednesday.
The golden jubilee celebrations were marked by the unveiling of a commemorative pylon and other programmes at the mine, which has maintained a consistent record of coal production over the decades.
SCCL Director (Projects and Planning) K. Venkateshwarlu and AITUC-affiliated Singareni Collieries Workers union (SCWU) president Vasireddy Seetharamaiah were among those who attended the celebrations.
Speakers recalled the underground mine’s history and highlighted its key achievements, including securing a five-star rating for 2018-2019 in the assessment conducted by the Union Ministry of Coal. The mine also achieved 200% of its targeted coal production in 2023, they said.
