Srisailam temple installs QR code boards with its history in 130 languages

The Srisailam temple has implemented AI-driven QR code boards that provide historical and architectural information in 130 languages. This initiative aims to improve accessibility for international and domestic pilgrims.
Why it matters
It demonstrates the integration of advanced AI technology into traditional religious tourism to enhance visitor experience.
The Srisailam temple management has installed QR code-enabled boards detailing the ‘Sthala Purana’ (legend/history) of the Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy temple at Srisailam at various locations within the temple premises for the convenience of devotees.
Srisailam temple Trust Board chairman Pothugunta Ramesh Naidu and Executive Officer M. Srinivasa Rao said that by scanning the QR code on these boards, devotees can access information regarding the legend of Srisailam, the significance of the site, historical details and the architectural style of the temple, available in both audio (conversational) and written formats. This information is accessible in 130 different languages.
The platform uses an artificial intelligence-driven centralised technology known as ‘NIVU’ (Neural Intelligence Vernacular Unified Model) to deliver these details. These boards have been installed at approximately 60 locations throughout the temple complex.
