Srisailam decked up for Devi Sarannavaratri celebrations

The temple town of Srisailam is preparing for the 11-day Devi Sarannavaratri celebrations starting October 11. Temple authorities have arranged for special rituals, illumination, and facilities to accommodate the expected influx of devotees.

The temple town of Srisailam has been decked up for the Devi Sarannavaratri celebrations, which begin on October 11 (Sunday).
Srisailam temple Trust Board chairman Pothugunta Ramesh Naidu and Executive Officer M. Srinivasa Rao said on Saturday that the 11-day Dasara celebrations, marked by elaborate rituals and festivities, would conclude on October 20. An LED screen has been installed at the Gangadhara Mandapam to enable devotees to watch the highlights of the celebrations.
Special rituals will be performed daily during the festival, including Archana for Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy, special pujas for Goddess Bhramaramba, Navadurga alankarams for the processional deity of the Goddess and Vahana Sevas for the presiding deities.
The festivities will begin on Sunday morning with Yagasala Pravesam, Ganapati Puja, Swasti Punyahavachanam, Deeksha Sankalpam and other rituals.
