Sri Sathya Sai district to play key role in transforming Rayalaseema into global horticulture hub, says Collector
The District Collector of Sri Sathya Sai district announced an ambitious Integrated Horticulture Development Plan (IHDP) to transform Rayalaseema into a global horticulture hub. This ₹1,600 crore initiative aims to boost farmers' income through improved market linkages, processing, and exports, benefiting over 2.85 lakh farmers across 23 clusters. Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is set to inaugurate the plan on October 2.

District Collector A. Shyam Prasad on Friday (September 25, 2026) said that Sri Sathya Sai district would play a pivotal role in transforming Rayalaseema into a global horticulture hub.
Addressing a review meeting with Agriculture and Horticulture officials, the Collector said that the Integrated Horticulture Development Plan (IHDP) would be implemented vigorously, as it remained an ambitious programme of the State government.
He said that Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu would officially inaugurate the plan at Madanapalle on October 2. The initiative, branded as “Global Horticulture Hub – Rayalaseema Rising,” would boost farmers’ income through better market linkages, processing, value addition, and exports.
