SRCW, UYIR join hands to promote road safety in Coimbatore
Sri Ramakrishna College for Women has partnered with the NGO UYIR to enhance road safety awareness among students in Coimbatore. The initiative aims to reduce preventable road accidents by encouraging students to act as safety ambassadors.

Sri Ramakrishna College for Women (SRCW) has signed an MoU with Coimbatore-based road safety NGO UYIR to strengthen road safety awareness among students.
The MoU was signed by college principal Chitra and R. Satish, mentor – Education Vertical, UYIR, and head – Administration, LMW. Praveen, DGM – Administration and Hospitality, LMW, faculty members, and students were present.
SRCW already has a UYIR Road Safety Club, through which students participate in road safety initiatives. The MoU will expand these activities and increase student and faculty participation.
Addressing the students, Mr. Satish said road accident deaths were preventable. He said around 300 people had died in road accidents in Coimbatore during the first half of 2026, with many of the victims being pedestrians.
