DETROIT – Detroit’s creative community came together for a masterclass unlike any other, drawing more than 700 attendees eager to tap into the city’s bursting creative energy.

Filmmaker and cultural icon Spike Lee was among the headliners, sharing insight and the stories behind some of his most celebrated work.

“Very grateful to have been in the room, just feeling the energy here,” said Cherie Amour, a Detroit filmmaker who was among those in attendance.

Amour describes herself as a multifaceted creative force in the community.

“I do all aspects. I’m a director, an actor. I’ve taught acting to children, so I give back to my community just any way that I can be an asset,” Amour said.
