Sony Pictures announced Tuesday that the superhero movie, starring Tom Holland , Zendaya and Sadie Sink , has grossed $1.05 billion in its first six days. This makes it the second-fastest film to achieve this milestone, behind only Avengers: Endgame , which launched with $1.2 billion worldwide in its opening weekend in April 2019.

After appearing to be neck-and-neck with Endgame for best domestic opening weekend in history, Sony confirmed Monday that Brand New Day had swung ahead to claim the title with $360 million . This pushed Endgame’ s $357.1 million sum down to second place, although its global opening total remained ahead of the $932 million that Spidey collected worldwide.
