The Spider-Man phenomenon has reached a new high in India. Spider-Man: Brand New Day has officially become the highest-grossing Hollywood film in the country, surpassing the lifetime haul of James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way of Water and giving Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios a new benchmark for imported releases.
According to Sony Pictures, Brand New Day had earned $52.8 million, roughly ₹440 crore, in India after its second weekend. The film added around $10.6 million during the weekend alone, pushing it past Avatar: The Way of Water , which had previously held the record.
