Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Toronto, advising of possible “significant rainfall” from Saturday morning to Sunday morning.
“Showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop over southwestern Ontario in the morning before moving into the Greater Golden Horseshoe in the afternoon,” Environment Canada said in its advisory.
The federal agency noted that Toronto could see up to 50 millimetres of rain “given the potential for slow-moving showers and thunderstorms and for some areas to receive multiple rounds of precipitation.”
