Madurai City Police, in collaboration with Guru Hospitals and Magizhchi – M.S. Chellamuthu Trust and Research Foundation, organised a special medical camp for women police personnel here on Saturday.

The medical camp was inaugurated by M. P. Dhivya, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Headquarters), and J. B. Prabhakar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Armed Reserve).

S. G. Balamurugan, chairman, Guru Hospitals, explained the symptoms of cancer, importance of early detection, significance of regular medical examination, and need for women to continuously pay attention to their health.

He also expressed his willingness to conduct similar medical camps on a regular basis. In addition, training on CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and life-saving techniques was proposed.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Dhivya said special medical facilities, medical camps and welfare programmes were being continuously organised, especially for police personnel. Steps would be taken to conduct such special medical camps for women police personnel.
