Special camp for voter enrolment in Erode on October 10

Erode district will hold a special voter enrolment camp on October 10 for eligible young and first-time voters. The initiative follows Election Commission instructions to update electoral rolls across the district.

A special camp for the enrolment of eligible young persons and first-time voters will be held at all polling stations in the eight Assembly constituencies in Erode district on October 10.
A release from the District Election Officer and Collector S. Kandasamy said the camp was being organised as per the Election Commission of India’s instructions to conduct special enrolment camps in States and Union Territories where the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls had been completed.
Special attention will be given to urban and rural areas to increase the enrolment of young and first-time voters. Electoral Literacy Clubs (ELCs) in schools and colleges will be utilised to create awareness among eligible persons and facilitate their enrolment.
