MUMBAI: In a Akshay Kumar-starrer Special 26-style plot, a sacked driver allegedly teamed up with two Income Tax officials and others to conduct a fake raid at his former employer’s office in Mumbai and demand Rs 1 crore. The extortion bid was foiled after the company owner asked the alleged raiding team to produce authorisation documents.Andheri police have arrested 10 people in connection with the July 17 incident, including two serving I-T officials. Police said the operation was masterminded by former company driver Santosh Khopatkar, 37, who was sacked about three months before the alleged raid and wanted revenge against his former employer.The fake raid was conducted at Two M Ophthotronics Pvt Ltd in Sahar Cargo Estate, Chakala. Police registered an FIR on September 4 following a complaint by company owner Rajkumar Kandasami.Kandasami told police that his employees called him saying I-T officials had raided the office.
