Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Speaker J.C.D. Prabhakar on Tuesday expressed displeasure over the conduct of some MLAs during the proceedings in the House. He said the responsibility of protecting the dignity and decorum of the House lay with both the ruling party and the Opposition.
Mr. Prabhakar said his intention was to conduct the House with dignity and without violating the conventions of the Assembly, while giving members an opportunity to take part in the debates. “But I have been observing for the past two days that some members, particularly those sitting on the back benches on both sides, are crossing the limits, coming out of their seats and moving towards the well of the House while raising their hands,” he said.
