SPDCL handles record power load, energy demand in July
The Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana successfully managed record-breaking electricity demand in July due to high temperatures and rainfall deficits. The utility attributed this to proactive infrastructure planning and maintenance.

The Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited (TGSPDCL) has handled the maximum ever peak load of 10,447 megawatt and supplied maximum energy of 209.91 million units in July as the high rainfall deficit has pushed the demand up not only by the agriculture sector but commercial and domestic categories too.
The peak load of power was recorded on July 25, while peak demand of energy was registered on July 15. Chairman and Managing Director of the TGSPDCL Jitesh V. Patil stated on Saturday that they were able to handle the demand without any power supply interruption.
Mr. Patil said the Southern Discom had effectively managed the rising demand with advance planning, efficient load management, strengthening of the power distribution network, augmentation of substation capacities, construction of new substations and development of feeders, thereby ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply to all categories of consumers.
