World championship leader Kimi Antonelli was fastest on Formula 1's first day of running at the Spanish Grand Prix's new Madrid circuit as the hugely challenging nature of the Madring was exhibited by a big crash for British rookie Arvid Lindblad. <p>After being outpaced by his Mercedes team-mate George Russell in the day's first session, Antonelli produced a quicker time of 1:33.662 in Practice Two to edge out Ferrari duo Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton by little more than a tenth of a second.</p><p>The timesheet was further evidence of Antonelli's sky-high confidence, which was elevated by a stunning victory at the Italian Grand Prix last weekend as he won his home race from 19th on the grid to move 66 points clear of Russell at the top of the standings with 10 rounds of the 2026 season remaining.</p><ul><li><strong><a href="https://www.skysports.com/f1/news/12433/13582249/spanish-gp-2026-dates-schedule-weather-uk-start-time-and-how-to-watch-or-stream-f1-race-in-madrid-live-on-sky-sports">Spanish GP: Schedule and how to watch new Madrid race</a></strong></li><li><strong><a href="https://www.skysports.com/f1/standings">F1 2026…
