Sowore Accuses NDC Leaders Of Making ₦9bn From Nomination Forms, Knocks Obi

Omoyele Sowore, presidential candidate for the African Action Congress, has accused the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) of profiting from nomination forms and criticized Peter Obi for his political maneuvering. Sowore claims these actions are designed to manage opposition rather than challenge the current administration.
Why it matters
The accusations reflect deep-seated tensions and distrust within the Nigerian political landscape ahead of election cycles.
The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has accused leaders of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) of making ₦9 billion from the sale of nomination forms while allegedly running the party from their living rooms.
Sowore also criticised NDC presidential candidate, Peter Obi, accusing him of moving between political parties ahead of elections without a genuine commitment to challenging Nigeria’s political establishment.
The AAC candidate made the allegations in a statement posted on X, where he accused the NDC and Obi of exploiting public anger against the government rather than working towards what he described as the liberation of Nigerians.
“The same opportunists and packaged political frauds who made ₦9 billion from selling nomination forms while running a political party from their living rooms,” Sowore wrote, referring to the NDC.
