Southern Railway to complete construction of halt railway station at Kilambakkam by October
Construction of a new halt railway station in Kilambakkam is expected to finish by October following delays caused by skywalk integration issues. Southern Railway and the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority have resolved disputes regarding way leave charges to proceed with the project.
The halt railway station being executed by the Southern Railway in Kilambakkam is expected to be completed by October this year. The project has been delayed and one of the main reasons was the the skywalk project linking the Kilambakkam bus terminus with the station. For the skywalk project, permission for placing the girder across the railway tracks was needed for the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) from the Southern Railway.
