Soroptimist International (SI) Madurai, celebrated its commitment to empowering women by honouring Bhuvaneshwari, organic farmer, as “SI Madurai Woman of the Year 2026,” here on Saturday.
The award was presented in recognition of her exemplary contribution to organic farming, sustainable agriculture and women entrepreneurship.
Speaking on the occasion, founder-president Anitha Rajarajan said that Ms. Bhuvaneshwari is an inspiration. Through organic farming, she has not only achieved economic independence but also promoted healthy food, soil conservation and employment for other women farmers.
She truly embodies the Soroptimist mission of ‘educate, empower and enable women.’
