Sony Brings AI Upscaling To The Base PS5

Sony is bringing its Quick Spectral Super Resolution (QSSR) AI upscaling technology to the standard PlayStation 5 console. The feature, which improves image detail and stability, is launching today for Marvel’s Wolverine and Ghost of Yōtei.

This update allows owners of the base PS5 console to access high-end graphical features previously exclusive to the more expensive PS5 Pro model.

Sony Interactive Entertainment/Sucker Punch Productions Add Engadget on Google: Preferred Source Google Discover Sony Interactive Entertainment has added AI upscaling to the standard PS5. It's deploying patches for Marvel's Wolverine and Ghost of Yōtei today that make them the first games to support Quick Spectral Super Resolution (QSSR) through new graphics options. SIE said the tech delivers "notable improvements" to image detail and stability, adding that every PlayStation developer will be able to add QSSR to their games.
