Someone eventually has to put it up to Rovers

St Patrick's Athletic defender Sean Hoare remains optimistic about his team's chances of catching Shamrock Rovers in the Premier Division title race. Despite a recent draw, Hoare believes the team has the talent to overcome the seven-point deficit.
Why it matters
The comments provide insight into the competitive landscape of the Irish Premier Division and the psychological state of the chasing teams.
St Patrick's Athletic centre-back Sean Hoare said his team have to believe they can overhaul Shamrock Rovers at the top of the Premier Division after a home draw with Dundalk rocked their title push.
Pat's did move above Bohemians into second place on goal difference courtesy of the 1-1 draw , Hoare's second-half header against his old club cancelling out Daryl Horgan's first-half opener from the penalty spot.
However, the result means that the Hoops' lead at the summit is now established at seven points, with none of the chasers boasting any more games in hand.
From this remove, Stephen Bradley's side look heavy favourites to claim a sixth league title in seven seasons but Hoare insists that there's plenty of time remaining to eat into the lead.
